Kamala Harris has released a new 82-page economic policy document. It’s a major elaboration on the policies in her platform, though to be fair, the 82 pages include length-padding tricks like huge fonts and full-page photos that would impress the world’s laziest eighth-grader. For example, page 20 is just this:

I would characterize the amount of policy contained in that photo as “low”. Also, I didn’t fail to notice that they’re in a Sheetz — the shameless Pennsylvania fan service continues.

But despite the padding, the document is — in my stupid opinion — thorough and serious. I have been King Bitch about the lack of policy in this campaign, but here, the Harris team has delivered. I don’t usually make sincere and positive comments on this blog — “snarky and profanity-laden” is my wheelhouse — but I think that this is a quality plan.

And it’s not just that Harris’ plan is thorough — it’s actually good. It embraces practical and market-oriented solutions to problems. Just two weeks ago, Trump called Harris a “Marxist” on national TV, and of course he did: “My opponent is a communist” is the line used by every right-wing politician in every campaign since probably before Karl Marx. Notably, though, Trump chose a nonsense attack when a truthful attack would have been available to a different candidate. A non-MAGA conservative in the Hayek/Milton Friedman vein could have said “Harris is admitting that I’m right about some pretty key things,” and they would have basically been correct.
