In response to the request for additional moral guidelines, I suggest that we ought to distinguish between action and speech. Immoral action should be punished, but immoral speech should be countered. This can't be an absolute principle either, but -- in our emotionally charged political environment -- the distinction often is ignored. Defending, proposing, or explaining something that my friends despise seems to be the same as engaging in immoral activity. For example, writing an article denying the holocaust or defending Israel's policy in Palestine seems equivalent to "committing genocide." Thus, merely talking to or platforming people who say bad things becomes a sin.
Just don't get the allure of Piker. The few times I've tried to listen, he comes off as a moron. Like if Pewdiepie developed a superficial interest in the extreme Left. But then I remember what I said and believed in my 20s. But that was the '90s and every idiotic whim or theory wasn't being magnified a thousand times by social media.
"Of course, identifying two extremes to be avoided doesn’t bring us very close to a usable principle for who to associate with and who to cut off."
I don't know about that. In recent years, the extremes have grown bigger, bolder, and more influential. Reach a moral stance on them, and you've already tackled some of the most notable players.
Ok.Pronunciation time. It's J.K. Rowling like BOWLING
I love the new Gershwin brother joke, that one’s getting stole.
And also a quick pronunciation update. You pronounce the last name of Bix Biederbeck like you pronounce the Bi in bi-curious.

Hank Aaron learned the hard way, literally, He was like, "Wow, this hitting thing is so much easier with your hands in the proper place."
