Hasan Piker has recently been attempting a version of the motte-and-bailey fallacy so egregious that he must be trying to get that form of argument named after him. Here are two examples:

people on this website treat me like i am the biggest villain and i just want them to have healthcare, autonomy in their workplace, and for us to end our endless wars

A short timelapse of people across Denver thanking Hasan for inspiring them to get more politically involved and helping Melat Kiros's campaign. A reminder that Twitter isn't real life. We will continue to carry the flame 🌹

So, let me get this straight: Piker makes his name as a Twitch edgelord. His product is hatred of the West, generally: He says that Hamas is “a thousand times better than Israel”, simps for the Chinese Communist Party, and cheers Russia’s invasion of Crimea. He thinks it’s bad that the Soviet Union lost the Cold War. He said that America “deserved” 9/11. He carries the banner for an organization that calls for “abolishing the carceral forces of the capitalist state,” opening borders, and defunding the Pentagon, to pluck three items from a platform with too many insane elements to list. His rants against his perceived enemies are often vile and personal, such as when he responded to a Vietnamese refugee describing the hardship she experienced under communism with “suck my dick old lady”. His whole schtick is shocking people and being extreme — it’s the Marilyn Manson template, but with politics instead of music. And he doesn’t even have the decency to spare us the “Garsh I’m just passionate about health insurance” horseshit — this is like if Manson tried to rebrand himself as an ernest, acoustic-guitar-playing lesbian folk songstress.
